At first glance, the Northern Pintail has a brown head but, depending on the light, sometimes there's a green sheen or, like this guy, they may show a very faint hint of red behind the eye running toward the back of his head. (And don't get me going about that beak of his!) I just can't get enough of these beautiful birds but I think this is the last of my Pintail posts...until next year. Happy #worldwildlifeday !
